Velier, a key player in the spirits market, was founded in 1947 by Casimiro Chaix in Genoa, in the heart of Italy. With his partner Arturo Lupi, the company began in 1953 a traditional import business of wines and spirits, including champagne, grappa, as well as tea and cocoa. In 1983, Gian Luca Gargano, then marketing director of Spirit SpA, the largest Italian import company, joined Velier's capital. From 1985, Velier specialized in importing exceptional spirits, notably aimed at high-end restaurants and wine bars. A pioneer in its sector, Velier was in 1988 the first Italian company to import New World wines. From 1992, the company meticulously selected casks of old Single Malts and rums to develop its own brand, officially launched in 1995. In 2001, Velier offered for the first time to its clientele the exclusive selection of Damoiseau rums. The Habitation Velier project, initiated in 2015 by Luca Gargano, embodies a unique collaboration with the world's best rum distillers. This prestigious collection highlights Pure Single rums, each expression distinguished by an original project and unique characteristics, marking true "world firsts" for the partner distilleries.

Monymusk 2007 is an exceptional Pure Single Rum from the renowned Monymusk Distillery in Jamaica. This rum highlights the MMW brand. Distilled in 2007, it underwent careful aging for 13 years in a tropical climate, giving it rich and complex aromas typical of great Jamaican rums.
