Authentic vintage bottle of the famous Bénédictine liqueur dating from the 1970s. This bottle has been carefully preserved in a Bordeaux cellar, thus guaranteeing its excellent condition and optimal tasting potential. D.O.M Bénédictine is one of the most prestigious and ancient secret recipes, created by French monks. Produced in Fécamp, Normandy, this herbal liqueur with a delicate amber-yellow color is known for its traditional medicinal virtues. In 1863, a merchant from Fécamp rediscovered this forgotten recipe and decided to name it in honor of the Benedictine monks with their Latin motto: Deo Optimo Maximo – "God, most good, most great".
To honor this heritage, he built a sumptuous Palace to house the distillery where the liqueur is still made today according to unchanged expertise. The traditional recipe includes four distinct preparations, incorporating 27 carefully selected plants, which are infused in alcohol and then meticulously distilled. The resulting liquid, called "spirit," is then aged in oak barrels to develop its complex aromas, and naturally colored with saffron. Lemon balm, juniper, and angelica dominate this unique aromatic balance with finesse.
