Vintage 1979 - BRUT DE FÛT - 35 Cl bottle
Frédéric Bourgoin is a passionate winemaker based in Saint Saturnin in Charente, at the heart of the region renowned for its exceptional Cognacs (France). On the family estate Clos des Spiritueux, he crafts unique cognacs with his family, distinguished by their authenticity and originality. His approach is based on a viticultural and winemaking philosophy respectful of nature, complete transparency, and a touch of bold innovation to reveal the full richness of the terroir.
The family estate BOURGOIN, recognized since 1930, spans the emblematic crus of Premiers Bois, Petite Champagne, and Fins Bois. Their goal is clear: to reintroduce the French public to the true taste of a winemaker's cognac, distinguished by its authenticity and purity.
"Above all, I claim the terroir of Premiers Bois, a small cru long overlooked on the original 1909 map, which benefits from remarkable Upper Cretaceous (middle Cenomanian) subsoils. I strive to produce "natural" cognacs, uncompromising, that accurately reflect the soul of the terroir where they were born."
But what does "natural" mean? It means no blending, no invasive filtration, no artificial coloring, and no added sugars. All my cognacs are bottled vintage by vintage, parcel by parcel, barrel by barrel. Older harvests are offered at their natural strength, thus preserving all their aromatic intensity.
For young eaux-de-vie, dilution is always done with distilled rainwater, enhancing the aromatic scope and finesse of the aromas. Racking is performed according to the lunar cycle, by gravity, to respect fluid mechanics and avoid any aggressive filtration that might alter the quality of the eaux-de-vie.
Bottling is entirely done by hand at the Clos des Spiritueux estate. "I reserve my cognacs for passionate wine merchants, high-end restaurants, and exceptional mixology." Note that quantities are very limited, guaranteeing a consistently excellent taste and an unforgettable tasting experience.
Our flagship cuvée? MICROBARRIQUE 1994 35cl at 43% vol. A unique 1994 vintage cognac, carefully aged and enhanced by a finish in a 10-liter micro-barrel, completed by a crocodile bousinage (55 seconds of direct flame). The nose and palate open with a bouquet of tropical aromas: exquisite bourbon vanilla, jammy strawberry, roasted pineapple, and overripe mango, offering incomparable complexity and roundness.
