Vintage 1977 - BRUT DE FÛT - 35 Cl bottle
Frédéric Bourgoin is a passionate winemaker in Saint Saturnin in Charente (France). Together with his family, he produces unique and authentic cognacs on their family estate, combining originality both in substance and form. His philosophy is based on a 100% natural viticulture and winemaking approach, absolute transparency, and a constant touch of innovation, which gives his products incomparable quality and uniqueness.
The BOURGOIN family vineyard, rooted since 1930, now extends over the prestigious crus of Premiers Bois, Petite Champagne, and Fins Bois. Their ambition is clear: to rediscover for the French and enthusiasts worldwide the authentic and refined taste of a true winemaker's cognac, crafted with care and passion.
"I mainly claim the unique terroir of Premiers Bois, a small forgotten cru from the original 1909 map, known for its magnificent Upper Cretaceous (Middle Cenomanian) subsoils. I persist in creating 'natural' cognacs that faithfully and intensely express the terroir that gave them birth."
By "natural," this means: no multiple blends, no aggressive filtrations, no added colorings or sugars. Each cognac is bottled by vintage, by parcel, and by barrel, guaranteeing a pure and specific expression. The old vintages are offered at their natural alcohol strength to provide an authentic and character-rich experience.
Reductions on young eaux-de-vie are always done with distilled rainwater, an ancestral method that optimizes aromatic retention and product finesse. Racking is performed in lunar quadrature, by gravity, to best benefit from fluid mechanics and avoid any unnecessary filtration, thus preserving the purity of the cognac.
Bottling is done 100% by hand, directly on the estate. "I dedicate my cognacs to passionate wine merchants, gourmet restaurants, and high-end mixology." Note that quantities are very limited, but each bottle guarantees an exceptional tasting experience and incomparable pleasure.
Our flagship cuvée? MICROBARRIQUE 1994 35cl at 43% vol. An atypical 1994 vintage cognac whose aging is enhanced by a finish in a 10-liter micro-barrel, with perfectly controlled crocodile charring (55 seconds of direct flame). The nose and palate reveal powerful tropical aromas: bourbon vanilla, jammy strawberry, roasted pineapple, and overripe mango, offering remarkable complexity and depth.
