The Springbank Distillery is an undisputed icon of the Campbeltown region, located on the Kintyre Peninsula in southwest Scotland . It is one of the last remaining independent distilleries in the area, renowned for the exceptional quality of its single malt whisky, crafted using time-honored artisanal methods. Founded in 1828 by Archibald and Hugh Mitchell , Springbank has established itself as a benchmark for Scotch whisky, remaining true to its founders' legacy. The independent bottler Cadenhead's is also part of this prestigious group.
Springbank Single Malts are produced from a unique blend of peat- and air-dried malts, and are distilled two and a half times, compared to three times for Hazelburn and twice for Longrow, thus offering a singular aromatic range, much appreciated by lovers of Scotch whisky.
The Local Barley 2024 is distilled in July 2016 from Bere Barley barley grown locally at High Ranachan Farm on the Kintyre Peninsula. This rare Scottish barley is traditionally malted at Springbank before being processed and matured into whisky on-site at the distillery. Bottled in December 2024 , this remarkable Single Malt was produced in a limited run of only 13,500 bottles , giving it an exclusive character sought after by collectors and connoisseurs of exceptional spirits.
