A former sommelier turned winemaker, Éric Bordelet has established himself as an absolute reference in the world of artisanal ciders and perries. Based in southern Normandy, he cultivates old apple and pear orchards biodynamically, working with the same high standards as the greatest wineries. His vintages are distinguished by their precision, elegance, and ability to rival the best gastronomic wines.
Authentic Poiré is made from a selection of old-variety pears, picked at peak ripeness in granite and schist orchards. The 2023 version, offered here in the prestigious Magnum format (1.5 L), expresses all the freshness and purity of the fruit. This large, rare and sought-after format is ideal for convivial meals with several people, but also for extending the aging potential, as perry evolves more slowly in Magnum.
The pale yellow color, finely sparkling, announces a delicate effervescence. The nose reveals an elegant aromatic palette, dominated by fresh pear, white flowers and a mineral touch. On the palate, the attack is lively and thirst-quenching, supported by a fine acidity and an elegant bubble that highlight the purity of the fruit. The finish, long and crystalline, expresses a subtle minerality and great freshness, making this perry as refined as a great dry white wine.
