Languedoc > Country of Hérault
The 2023 Les Brunes from Domaine Les Creisses is an emblematic cuvée of the Languedoc, originating from terroirs of rolled pebbles and clay-limestone soils located in the Hérault, not far from Pézenas. The estate, precisely managed by Laurent Chabert, has established itself over the vintages as a benchmark for its deep, structured wines with great consistency, combining Mediterranean ripeness and balance. Les Brunes embodies this philosophy, with a rigorous selection of grapes, controlled yields, and precise vinifications aimed at preserving the fruit's identity and the terroir's clarity. The 2023 vintage, benefiting from favorable weather and perfectly ripe harvests, offers a dense yet well-controlled wine, where power never overshadows elegance. This cuvée clearly fits into an ambitious and serious interpretation of the great reds of the South. The nose is intense and complex, blending aromas of ripe black fruits, blackberry, blackcurrant, and black cherry, with notes of licorice, cocoa, and soft spices. Upon aeration, nuances of garrigue, pepper, tapenade, and a slightly smoky touch emerge, enhancing the aromatic depth. On the palate, the attack is broad and structured, with dense matter supported by tight but ripe tannins, perfectly integrated. The mid-palate reveals a great concentration of fruit, sustained by an underlying freshness that balances the wine's natural richness. The texture is full, velvety, with a long and persistent finish marked by spices, black fruit, and an elegant mineral imprint. The 2023 Les Brunes thus asserts a powerful, controlled style designed for aging. This cuvée will ideally accompany roasted or grilled meats, a rib steak, game, stews, or Mediterranean cuisine with intense flavors. It will also pair well with aged hard cheeses, highlighting their depth and richness. Clos des Millésimes Bordeaux offers the 2023 Les Brunes in a carefully selected range of great wines from the Languedoc, showcasing estates capable of producing characterful, consistent, and ambitious cuvées. This wine is aimed at lovers of sunny and structured reds, seeking a serious aging wine capable of evolving harmoniously over several years while already offering beautiful aromatic intensity.

Domaine Les Creisses - Les Brunes 2023

Les Brunes 2023 from Domaine Les Creisses establishes itself as an emblematic cuvée of the Languedoc, where the depth of Cabernet Sauvignon meets remarkable precision of execution. The dense purple robe with black reflections announces a wine of great intensity. The nose opens with powerful aromas of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, and black cherry, complemented by notes of graphite, cocoa, and sweet spices. A slightly mentholated and balsamic nuance brings freshness and relief to the whole. The aromatic expression is clear, concentrated, yet perfectly controlled, without demonstrative excess. From the first sniff, the wine asserts a serious and refined stature, a signature of the domaine.

On the palate, the attack is broad and structured, supported by dense and velvety matter. The tannins, fine but very present, outline a solid and elegant framework, offering great length in the mouth. The black fruit continues with intensity, supported by perfectly integrated aging that brings notes of vanilla, light roasting, and noble wood without ever masking the heart of the wine. The natural freshness balances the power of the Cabernet Sauvignon and avoids any heaviness. The palate gains complexity as it evolves, revealing touches of licorice, pepper, and bitter cocoa. The whole is precise, deep, and remarkably harmonious, with a sensation of total mastery.

Les Brunes 2023 is a gastronomic and cellar-worthy wine, designed to accompany rich and structured dishes. It pairs ideally with a grilled beef cut, game, roasted lamb, or characterful stewed cuisine. Its density and elegance also allow it to converse with aged hard cheeses. Served around 16 to 18 °C, after careful aeration, it reveals all its complexity and balance. Already impressive in its youth, it has excellent aging potential, evolving towards tertiary notes of fine leather, undergrowth, and noble spices. It is a great red from the South, ambitious, refined, and deeply identity-driven, which strongly illustrates the expertise of Domaine Les Creisses.
