Domaine Les Trois Trucs - Cincèdre 2024
Domaine Les Trois Trucs is located in Assas in Hérault, in the heart of Languedoc . It was founded in 2023 and is run by Théo Rougée , with the support of Mathis Rougée , two promising young winemakers. Théo trained in France and Australia, notably at Faiveley in Burgundy and at Roc des Anges in Roussillon. Matthis worked at Mas Bruguière in Pic Saint Loup and at Château des Tours in Vacqueyras. "Trucs", in Occitan, refers to the three arid hills that lie halfway between Pic Saint Loup and the Gulf of Lion: Font de l'Euze, Le Patus and Montalivet. Truc Montalivet peaks at 180 meters above sea level on a terroir of rolled pebbles where Syrah (2/3) and Grenache (1/3) have been planted since 2001. Truc Font de l'Euze consists of three small terraces where Grenache, Mourvèdre and Cinsault have been planted since 2007. Truc Le Patus has richer soil than the other two trucs; its pebbles are smaller and the Grenache Noir planted with Piquepouls in 2022 is protected from the wind by the tall pine trees that surround it. The estate adopts an artisanal approach, emphasizing plot-by-plot vinification and careful aging. Each plot is vinified and barreled separately, thus allowing for an authentic expression of the terroir.
Cincèdre is a blend of Cinsault (80%) supplemented with Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre (20%) . After manual harvesting and sorting in the vineyard, the grapes are vatted in co-fermentation. The infusion lasts a few days in vats. The wine is aged for 6 months with regular racking.
Grape varieties: 80% Cinsault, 20% Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre
