Old Forester 1870 - Original Batch - 45%
Old Forester , produced by Brown-Forman in Louisville, Kentucky , proudly claims its title as "America's First Bottled Bourbon," an innovation introduced as early as 1870 to ensure the quality and authenticity of the product. This iconic bourbon is one of the few to have been distilled continuously before, during, and after Prohibition.
It was in this same year, 1870, that George Garvin Brown founded the brand on the legendary Whiskey Row , with the revolutionary idea of standardizing the quality of bourbon by blending barrels from different distilleries.
In homage to this founding method, Old Forester 1870 Original Batch was created as the first batch in the Whiskey Row Series . True to the original spirit, it is crafted from casks from three distinct warehouses , each with a specific alcohol profile and maturity. The final blend, minimally filtered, captures the period style with an elegantly contemporary expression.
Unpeated
"This bourbon combines heritage and modernity, perfect for enhancing an Old Fashioned or enjoying it neat, as George Garvin Brown would undoubtedly have preferred."
