Domaine Gilles Robin - Syr'Alouette 2023
Domaine Gilles Robin is located in Mercurol, in the northern Rhône region . The estate's history dates back to 1920, when Louis Pasquion, Gilles Robin's great-grandfather, acquired the first plots. In 1996, Gilles Robin took the reins of the family estate and decided to vinify and bottle his own vintages, thus breaking with the tradition of bulk sales. He implemented environmentally friendly viticulture, adopting organic practices in 2012. The estate now covers 20 hectares, spread across several prestigious appellations such as Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Hermitage, Cornas, and Saint-Péray.
Syr'Alouette is made from Syrah grown on clay-loam soils. The harvest is destemmed and then macerated for 18 days in stainless steel vats with extractions by pumping over and punching down. The wine is aged for 8 months in stainless steel vats .
