Tangerine Napoleon - Great Imperial Liqueur - 38%
Mandarine Napoléon is a Belgian brand of fruit liqueur made from Andalusian mandarins and eau-de-vie from a recipe dating from the 19th century. Antoine-François Fourcroy, chemist and member of the Council of State under Napoleon Bonaparte, describes in his personal notes that the Emperor liked to macerate mandarins and tangerines in Cognac. In 1892, Louis Schmidt, based on this information, rediscovered the recipe, and the “Mandarin Napoléon, Grande Liqueur Impériale” was put on the market.
It is used in cocktails but is also an ingredient in culinary preparations.
