GLEN GRANT - 5 years - Vintage 1966 - 43% ABV
The Glen Grant distillery is strategically located in Rothes, in the prestigious heart of the Speyside region in Scotland, the birthplace of some of the world's most refined whiskies. Founded in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant, two passionate distillers with a mysterious past as illegal smugglers, it quickly became a symbol of quality and innovation in the whisky world. In 1872, following the death of the founders, the young James "The Major" Grant, born in 1847 and a visionary heir, took over the family business. This bold pioneer, also known for being the first man in the Highlands to own a car, revolutionized distillation by introducing electric lighting in the distillery and perfecting the tall stills as well as the unique purifiers that give Glen Grant whisky its fresh malty texture and its characteristic crystalline clarity still today. This innovative approach established Glen Grant as an essential reference in the production of exceptional Scottish whisky, respecting heritage while constantly pushing the boundaries of the distilling art.
