Distilled in 2017 from 100% Scottish barley harvested in 2016, this intensely peated single malt at 130.8 ppm has benefited from exclusive aging in first-fill American oak casks. Bottled at cask strength, without any chill filtration or artificial coloring, it retains all its authenticity. The influence of Islay's maritime climate and a long maturation by the sea give the distillate a refined saline tension, enhancing the characteristic vigor of the peat.
The nose reveals a rich aromatic palette: delicate swirls of ashy smoke, creamy vanilla, subtly toasted oak and heather honey, enhanced by delicious notes of candied lemon and salted butter caramel. On the palate, the strength of the cask strength is expressed intensely, without ever masking the harmony of flavors: warm peat, dark chocolate, toasted hazelnuts and dried fruits create a full and textured ensemble.
