La Vallée des Abeilles - Collioure Blanc 2024
Collioure Blanc 2024 from La Vallée des Abeilles is a bright and sensitive interpretation of the great whites of the Côte Vermeille, shaped by the sea, the wind, and the rock. The pale yellow dress with golden reflections announces a wine that is both sunny and taut. The nose opens with aromas of ripe citrus, candied lemon, and white peach, complemented by notes of white flowers and a touch of fresh almond. A saline nuance, almost iodized, immediately recalls the proximity of the Mediterranean and the steep schist terraces. The whole is precise, elegant, without heaviness, with a pure and expressive aromatic profile. From the first sniff, the wine imposes a sensation of balance and quiet depth.
On the palate, the attack is ample but perfectly controlled, supported by a silky texture and a natural freshness that structures the whole. Flavors of white-fleshed fruits continue with notes of citrus zest, warm stone, and a slight floral touch. The texture, both generous and taut, reflects the precise work in the vineyard and cellar, favoring the expression of the terroir rather than opulence. The aging, finely integrated, adds relief without masking the wine’s identity. The palate remains long, balanced, with a saline tension that stretches the finish and enhances drinkability. Each sip expresses the meeting between the power of the sun and the freshness of the sea breeze.
Collioure Blanc 2024 follows the same philosophy as the other cuvées from La Vallée des Abeilles, born from the meeting between Pierre Gagnaire, Thierry and Jean-Emmanuel Parcé, and Rodolphe, around a shared vision made of respect, listening, and long time. It is a gastronomic table wine, ideal to accompany grilled fish, shellfish, refined Mediterranean cuisine, or dishes with iodized accents. It also drinks very well on its own, in a moment of calm, to fully appreciate its depth and finesse. Served around 10 to 12 °C, it reveals all its aromatic complexity and freshness. It is a great white from Collioure, both sincere, precise, and deeply rooted in its landscape.
Grape varieties: Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris.
