Domaine Roc des Anges - Les Terres de Fagayra - Maury Tuilé Hors d'âge
The Domaine Roc des Anges, located in Montner in the Pyrénées-Orientales, is a major reference in Roussillon, recognized for its viticultural rigor and precise reading of the schist terroirs of Força Réal. Certified in organic farming since 2008 and in biodynamics since 2011 (Biodyvin), the estate cultivates its vines in a constant search for harmony between soil, climate, and plant. The plots dedicated to Les Terres de Fagayra perpetuate the great tradition of Maury's natural sweet wines, combining concentration, finesse, and depth. The old vines, rooted in poor and well-drained soils, produce grapes of remarkable intensity, ideal for long and noble aging.
The cuvée Les Terres de Fagayra – Maury Tuilé Hors d’Âge is made from Grenache Noir and Carignan, coming from vines about 60 years old. The vinification is carried out with indigenous yeasts, followed by a mutage on juice to preserve the aromatic integrity and natural richness of the fruit. The prolonged aging takes place in foudres as well as 228 and 500-liter barrels, promoting a slow evolution towards complex and harmonious tuilé notes. This patient aging develops exceptional aromatic depth while maintaining balance and freshness.
On tasting, this Maury Tuilé Hors d’Âge shows a deep robe with mahogany and tuilé reflections. The nose opens with intense aromas of dried fig, prune, cocoa, coffee, and spices, enriched with nuances of walnut and caramel. The palate is ample, velvety, and structured, supported by controlled richness and a beautiful underlying freshness. The finish is long, persistent, marked by notes of candied fruits and roasting. This natural sweet wine will ideally accompany intense dark chocolate, a dried fruit dessert, a blue cheese, or can be enjoyed alone at the end of a meal, in a contemplative moment.
