Domaine des Croix - Beaune Rouge 2023
The Domaine des Croix – Beaune Rouge 2023 embodies the elegance and rigor of the work of David Croix, a winemaker renowned for his precise interpretation of the terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. Based in Beaune since 2005, the estate cultivates its vines biodynamically on carefully worked clay-limestone soils, in order to reveal the purity and natural depth of Pinot Noir.
The 2023 vintage, marked by a balanced summer and healthy harvests, produced wines of great aromatic finesse and a silky texture. The grapes, harvested at perfect ripeness, were vinified gently, with partial destemming and measured extraction. Aging in oak barrels, a small proportion of which are new, refines the structure without masking the delicacy of the fruit.
The nose opens with precise aromas of cherry, raspberry, and peony, enriched with notes of pink pepper and undergrowth. On the palate, the wine displays a fluid and vibrant body, supported by fine tannins and a taut mineral structure. The overall impression is captivating with its precision and freshness, with a long and elegant finish, where morello cherry and limestone earth are expressed.
A balanced and expressive Beaune, faithful to the pure and energetic style of David Croix, to be enjoyed young or after a few years of aging. Serve between 15 and 16°C after a brief aeration.
