Château Peybonhomme Les Tours - Le Blanc Bonhomme 2025
Château Peybonhomme Les Tours is one of the historic estates of Blayais, located in Cars, on the right bank of Bordeaux. Owned by the Hubert family since 1895, it covers about 38 hectares of vineyards and has established itself as a reference for biodynamic wines from Bordeaux. The estate is now associated with Rachel Hubert, who continues precise work on soils, natural balances, and low-intervention winemaking. This approach allows the production of sincere, expressive, and accessible wines while maintaining a true terroir requirement. The Blanc Bonhomme 2025 illustrates this desire to restore the prominence of whites from the area, on clay-limestone soils particularly suited to freshness and minerality.
This cuvée is made from an original Bordeaux blend, combining Sauvignon, Sémillon, and Colombard. Sauvignon brings liveliness, citrus notes, and tension, while Sémillon provides richness, depth, and a fuller texture. Colombard, an old grape variety once more common in Bordeaux whites, completes the blend with a touch of exoticism and aromatic energy. The grapes are grown biodynamically on clay-limestone soils, in the living and precise spirit that characterizes the château. The 2025 vintage should offer a bright white, both fresh, supple, and expressive. The whole favors a balance between fruit, roundness, and mineral tension.
On tasting, this Bordeaux white reveals an expressive nose blending citrus, pineapple, acacia, white flowers, and yellow-fleshed fruits. The palate is ample without heaviness, supported by ripe Sémillon, then revived by the straight freshness of Sauvignon. The finish maintains a beautiful persistence, with a sensation both floral, fruity, and slightly saline. Served around 10 to 12°C, it will perfectly accompany oysters, seafood, grilled fish, scallops, creamy poultry, or goat cheese. Its freshness allows it to be enjoyed young, but its substance will also give it the capacity to evolve over a few years.
