Les Grèzes Blanc 2024 from Château du Cèdre is a luminous cuvée originating from the limestone terroirs of Cahors, where the estate has been expressing a precise and elegant interpretation of Southwest white wines for several years. Cultivated on limestone gravel soils that promote freshness and tension, the vines benefit from a preserved natural environment and organic viticulture attentive to the balance of living things. The estate, a historic reference in Cahors, applies the same exacting standards to its whites as to its reds, prioritizing aromatic purity and terroir clarity. The 2024 vintage, marked by consistent climatic conditions, allowed for the harvest of perfectly ripe grapes while maintaining a naturally structuring acidity. This Les Grèzes Blanc cuvée stands out for its straight, fresh, and gastronomic style, far from any excessive display. On the nose, the wine reveals a clear and expressive aromatic profile blending fresh citrus, yellow lemon, grapefruit, and zest, accompanied by notes of white flowers and white-fleshed fruits. Muscadelle adds a subtly floral and slightly honeyed touch, enriching the bouquet without masking the freshness of the sauvignon blanc. On the palate, the attack is lively and precise, driven by a marked mineral tension that elegantly stretches the body. The mid-palate reveals a harmonious balance between freshness, discreet roundness, and saline relief, with flavors of citrus, crisp pear, and a fine herbal touch. The texture is fluid yet structured, supported by a perfectly integrated acidic framework. The finish is long, fresh, and persistent, leaving a clean and digestible sensation typical of great limestone whites. Les Grèzes Blanc 2024 will ideally accompany grilled or lightly sauced fish, seafood, shellfish, as well as roasted poultry, goat cheeses, or vegetarian cuisine with fresh herbs. Its precision and freshness make it a wine perfectly suited to the table, capable of accompanying delicate dishes without overpowering them. Clos des Millésimes Bordeaux offers this cuvée in a carefully selected range of terroir whites, highlighting committed estates and sincere expressions from the Southwest. This 2024 white is aimed at lovers of fresh, structured, and authentic wines, seeking an elegant alternative to more classic great whites.

Château du Cèdre - Les Grèzes 2024

The Les Grèzes Blanc 2024 from Château du Cèdre offers a bright and finely detailed expression of the limestone hills of the Southwest, in a style combining freshness, precision, and natural elegance. The pale yellow color with greenish reflections announces a lively and radiant wine. The nose opens with clear aromas of fresh lemon, grapefruit, and blackcurrant bud, typical of Sauvignon Blanc, complemented by notes of white flowers and a touch of juicy pear brought by the Muscadelle. A subtle mineral nuance, evoking wet stone, enhances the sensation of purity. The whole is expressive but never showy, with a straight and refined aromatic profile. From the first sniff, the wine displays great clarity and true overall freshness.

On the palate, the attack is frank and taut, driven by a lively acidity that stretches the wine with precision. The Sauvignon Blanc impresses its fresh and lemony backbone, while the Muscadelle adds a slight extra roundness and suppleness in the mid-palate. The texture remains fluid, elegant, without any heaviness, with a saline sensation that enhances drinkability. The careful vinification, focused on preserving fruit and tension, allows the terroir’s identity to be fully expressed without artifice. The palate maintains a beautiful balance between liveliness, body, and aromatic finesse. The finish, clean and persistent, extends the citrus and floral notes with great brightness.

The Les Grèzes Blanc 2024 is a fresh gastronomic wine, as appealing as an aperitif as it is at the table. It perfectly accompanies seafood, oysters, grilled fish, ceviche, or light plant-based cuisine made from crunchy vegetables and fresh herbs. Its natural tension and aromatic finesse also make it an excellent partner for fresh or goat cheeses. Served around 9 to 11 °C, it fully expresses its brightness, precision, and balance. Best enjoyed young to benefit from its liveliness and pure fruit, while it can also evolve harmoniously over a few years towards more complex and mineral notes. It is a straight, elegant, and very readable white wine that reveals a refined and contemporary facet of Château du Cèdre.

Grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc (90%), Muscadelle (10%)
