Velier, an iconic house founded in 1947 by Casimiro Chaix in Genoa, Italy, is globally recognized for its passion and expertise in importing and selecting prestigious spirits. Alongside Arturo Lupi, they launched in 1953 a company dedicated to importing exceptional wines and spirits, including champagnes, grappas, as well as rare teas and cocoas. In 1983, the arrival of Gian Luca Gargano, marketing director of Spirit SpA, revolutionized the company, which specialized from 1985 in distributing high-end spirits, notably for gourmet restaurants and upscale wine bars. A pioneer, Velier introduced New World wines to the Italian market in 1988. From 1992, the house established itself in the rigorous selection of rare casks of Single Malts and rums, developing a prestigious brand from 1995.
