Meunier - Génépi n ° 1 - 50%
La Maison Meunier is located in Saint-Quentin-sur-Isère in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. In 1809, Charles Meunier , trader in colonial products and passionate about botany, established himself as a distiller by partnering with Camille Teisseire, maker of Ratafias and other liqueurs in Grenoble. He tirelessly experiments and develops a distillate made up of alpine plants and Génépi, thus creating the first Génépi from the Alps . From 1841, Charles Meunier, appointed tax collector for the town of Voiron, passed on his knowledge and his recipes to his wife, Amable. This one, helped by her children, installs the Distillery in Voiron under the name of A. Meunier Mère et Fils and markets the Meunier Liqueurs elaborated according to the recipes created by her husband. In 1975, Eugène Modelski , former financial director of the Compagnie Française de la Grande Chartreuse, took over the Meunier Distillery then on sale. After ten years of training, François, Eugène's eldest son, becomes the new Master Distiller of Maison Meunier. Applied and methodical, he directed the production of the Distillery for more than thirty years. After several years of marketing the Maison's products, Patrick Modelski takes the reins of the Distillery. In 2021, the Distillery was handed over to Edouard and Arthur, who thus became the third generation of the Modelski family to watch over the Maison Meunier.
Génépi Meunier No.1 is the original recipe for the Génépi liqueur, as created by the Meunier Distillery in 1809. It is a distillate with a secret formula, composed of Génépi and a bouquet of 14 aromatic plants. .
