Domaine de Sancet - Cuvée Flam - Amphora 2024
The Domaine de Sancet is located in Saint-Martin-d’Armagnac, in the Gers, at the heart of the wine-producing Southwest. Taken over by Dominique Faget, the family estate today pursues a demanding qualitative dynamic, focused on the pure expression of Gascon grape varieties. The vineyard is managed using organic and biodynamic farming, with particular attention paid to soil vitality and the natural balance of the vine. This respectful approach reveals the aromatic finesse and tension characteristic of the great whites of the region. The estate is gradually establishing itself as a rising signature of the appellation, with precise and committed cuvées.
The Cuvée Flam – Amphora 2024 is a true favorite, embodying a contemporary and refined interpretation of Petit Manseng. Made exclusively from this emblematic grape variety of the Southwest, it benefits from a 9-month aging in amphora, a bold choice that preserves the purity of the fruit while adding texture and depth. The amphora promotes delicate micro-oxygenation without marking the wine, allowing the Petit Manseng to express all its tension and aromatic complexity. The 2024 vintage reveals a remarkable balance between intensity, freshness, and precision.
On tasting, the Cuvée Flam seduces with its beautiful aromatic intensity, evoking ripe apricots, white flowers, and a subtle exotic touch. The palate is ample and vibrant, supported by a fresh and structuring framework that balances the natural richness of the grape variety. The finely chiselled texture reflects the controlled contribution of the amphora, offering depth and elegance without heaviness. The finish is persistent, bright, and saline, inviting to the table. This wine will perfectly accompany sauced fish, delicately spiced cuisine, or aged cheeses, and can evolve harmoniously over a few years.
