Domaine de la Folie has dominated the hillsides of Rully for several generations and embodies the understated elegance of the great white wines of the Côte Chalonnaise. Nestled on a terroir of fine clay and fissured limestone, the estate cultivates its vines with meticulous care, prioritizing soil cultivation and yield control to preserve the purest expression of Chardonnay. The Rully Blanc Clos la Folie 2024 comes from a historic plot located near the estate, facing south and protected from the winds. The grapes, harvested at perfect ripeness, are slowly pressed before fermentation in oak barrels, including a subtly measured proportion of new oak. Aging on fine lees for several months gives the wine volume and complexity, while respecting the integrity of the vintage. The 2024 here reveals a balanced, vibrant profile with great aromatic purity.
The nose reveals precise aromas of white flowers, fresh citrus, and vine peach, supported by a touch of hazelnut and a delicate buttery note. On the palate, the texture is ample but taut, marked by a beautiful energy and a delicate salinity. The finish, long and crystalline, leaves an impression of wet stone and candied lemon, a guarantee of promising aging potential.
This white Rully is the perfect accompaniment to scallop carpaccio, creamy poultry, morel risotto, or mature goat's cheese. Serve between 11 and 12°C, after opening briefly.
