Located in Campbeltown , on the Kintyre Peninsula in southwest Scotland, Springbank Distillery is one of the last remaining representatives of this once thriving whisky-producing region. Founded in 1828 by Archibald and Hugh Mitchell , it is still owned by their descendants. It is also one of the few Scottish distilleries to control its entire production process on-site: traditional malting, distillation and bottling.
Springbank produces three distinct styles of single malts under different names: Springbank, Longrow (peated), and Hazelburn (unpeated, triple distilled). The name Hazelburn pays homage to a former distillery in Campbeltown that was, in its time, the town's largest.
This limited edition, distilled in February 2007 and bottled in March 2025, is the result of a full 8-year aging in Oloroso Sherry casks . Bottled at cask strength, this whisky was produced in a limited edition of 10,500.
Unpeated
"An unpeated single malt with deep aromas of figs, dried fruits, and caramel. On the palate, the attack is smooth, the texture velvety, and the sherry notes express themselves with intensity and elegance. The finish, long and slightly spicy, reveals all the finesse of the triple distillation."
