La Gauloise - Green - Aging 5 years in barrels - 46%
Gauloise is a herbal liqueur and brandy , originating from Corrèze in central France. The recipe would have been rediscovered by Edouard Requier, distiller and liquorist in Périgueux, in 1783 in a grimoire. It is now produced by La Distillerie du Center in Limoges.
Master liqueur maker Pierre Nouhaud uses angelica, St. John's wort, saffron, cardamom, genepi and other secret ingredients, distilled twice over a wood fire.
This edition of La Gauloise was aged for 5 years in oak barrels that contained white wine from Château Latour-Martillac , a Grand Cru Classé des Graves in the Bordeaux region. La Gauloise Verte is bottled at 48°. Bottled on May 11, 2021, 296 bottles have been produced.
