Domaine Mestre Père et Fils - Maranges 2019

Domaine Mestre Père et Fils is located in the Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy. The estate is located in the heart of Santenay, extends over the slopes of the Maranges as well as those of Chassagne-Montrachet, Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix. For 5 generations, the family has operated a 17-hectare vineyard and produces nine white wines crus and twelve red wines crus. The exploitation of the vines has been oriented since 1976 towards sustainable cultivation.

The harvest is done manually with sorting directly in the vineyard. The Pinot Noir grapes are then transported in perforated boxes, to preserve the highest quality harvest possible, before working in the winery using modern methods. The harvest is entirely destemmed then crushed, and alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. The vatting lasts 2 weeks with punching down and pumping over. Aging takes place in oak barrels, 25% of which are new.
