Domaine Vacheron - Belle Dame 2023
The Domaine Vacheron is one of the major signatures of Sancerre, located in the heart of the Loire Valley. This emblematic family estate is now managed by Jean-Dominique and Jean-Laurent Vacheron, who have deeply marked the appellation with their high standards and environmental commitment. The vineyard is managed under certified organic and biodynamic agriculture, with extreme attention paid to the soils and the precision of vinifications. The plots are planted on the finest terroirs of the appellation, notably flint and limestone soils, giving the wines depth and a strong identity. Domaine Vacheron is today considered an essential reference for the great wines of Sancerre, both white and red.
The cuvée Belle Dame 2023 is made exclusively from Pinot Noir, coming from old vines planted on flint terroirs. It is one of the most prestigious single-vineyard selections of the estate, produced in limited quantity. The 2023 vintage, balanced and precise, highlights a refined and deep expression of the Loire Valley Pinot Noir. The vinification is carried out with indigenous yeasts, with measured extraction to preserve finesse and tension. The aging, conducted with restraint, supports the structure without masking the purity of the fruit and the minerality of the soil. This cuvée embodies an ambitious and structured interpretation of Sancerre red.
On the palate, Belle Dame 2023 reveals an intense nose of black cherry, ripe raspberry, and delicate floral notes, accompanied by a subtle smoky touch characteristic of flint soils. The mouth is elegant, structured, and vibrant, supported by fine tannins and a marked mineral framework. The balance between depth, freshness, and precision gives the wine great length and remarkable aging potential. The finish is persistent, delicately spicy and saline. This Sancerre red will ideally accompany roasted poultry, delicate meats, or refined gourmet cuisine.
