Domaine Chiroulet, located in the heart of the Côtes de Gascogne, is one of the region's iconic properties. For several generations, the Fezas family has passionately cultivated native grape varieties, producing vintages that combine authenticity, precision, and a faithful expression of the terroir. The Soleil d'Automne 2023 cuvée embodies the indulgence and elegance typical of Gascony's sweet wines. Made primarily from Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng, harvested at late maturity, it benefits from autumn sunshine that concentrates the sugars and aromas in the berries. This meticulous vinification results in a balanced sweet wine, marked by a beautiful freshness that avoids any heaviness. Upon tasting, Soleil d'Automne 2023 presents a luminous golden yellow color. The nose seduces with its aromatic intensity, with notes of exotic fruits (pineapple, mango), candied citrus, dried apricot, and honey. On the palate, the attack is smooth and generous, supported by a fine acidity that perfectly balances the sweetness. The texture, round and velvety, highlights flavors of yellow-fleshed fruits, marmalade, and white flowers. The finish, long and fresh, leaves a gourmet and refined impression. An irresistible sweet wine, ideal as an aperitif or to accompany foie gras, fruity desserts, fine pastries, or blue cheeses. With Soleil d'Automne 2023, Domaine Chiroulet creates a harmonious and luminous wine, perfect for lovers of balanced, mellow vintages.
Domaine Chiroulet - Autumn Sun 2023
Domaine Chiroulet is located in the Gers, on the lands of Armagnac, in Gascony . It was created in 1893 and the property then covers 5 hectares dedicated to mixed farming and livestock breeding. Alban Sourbès, winemaker and distiller, experienced the dark years of phylloxera and ran the estate until 1935. The property was passed on to his niece, Suzanne Capmartin, and her husband Albert Fezas designed an extension project that would not come to fruition because of the Second World War. It was his grandson and current owner Philippe Fezas who diversified the estate's activities. Nearing completion, the transition to organic farming reinforces a commitment that extends to the environment close to the vines, in an agroforestry project. This principle, which benefits the vine ecosystem, makes it possible to relocate the biomass on the plots, regulate auxiliary fauna and the ambient microclimate. It is in a responsible spirit and a holistic approach that Domaine Chiroulet is thus operated.
