Domaine Bernard Gripa - The Cradle - Saint Joseph 2023

Domaine Bernard Gripa is located in Mauves, in the northern Rhône Valley . The estate was founded in 1974 and has been run since 2001 by his son Fabrice Gripa . It produces wines in the Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph appellations. The vineyard covers just under 20 hectares on granite and limestone soils. The estate is managed with respect for the environment and the promotion of the terroir. In the cellar, it mainly uses 228-liter Burgundy barrels or 600-liter casks. The wines are aged in wood for between 8 and 12 months depending on the vintage.

Saint-Joseph Le Berceau Rouge is made from Syrah from a granite terroir. The harvest is partially destemmed (70%) and then fermented in open vats. Maceration lasts 2 to 3 weeks, with some punching down and pumping over. The wine is aged for 12 months in 228-liter oak barrels .
