TALISKER - Port Ruighe - 45.8%
Talisker Distillery is based in Carbost , Scotland on the Isle of Skye . It dates back to 1831, when the MacAskill brothers opened their distillery at Talisker House in the settlement of Carbost on the west coast of Skye. The building was a gift from the chief of Clan MacLeod, and the clan has remained associated with the distillery. The MacAskills sold the business in 1825, and it became part of the Distillers Company. Today, Talisker is an integral part of Diageo's Classic Malt range. It has five stills in operation, producing around 2 million liters of spirit annually, and the water comes from springs in the Cuillin Hills, which overlook the distillery. Due to Skye's relatively poor soils, barley is grown in the area known as the Muir of Ord, on the mainland 20 km west of Inverness.
Port Ruighe is a version of the classic Talisker matured in Ruby Port casks .
