Fortaleza - Tequila Blanco - 40%
Fortaleza is a brand of tequila produced in Mexico . Although the Tequila Fortaleza brand was officially launched in 2005, its roots date back to 1873 with Don Cenobio Sauza, considered the father of tequila; he was the first to export "mezcal de tequila" to the United States, shorten the name to "tequila," and use steam to cook the agave, replacing traditional earthen pits. He also identified blue agave as the best variety for tequila production.
Blanco tequila is produced from blue agave grown in the Tequila Valley and matured for at least eight years. The agave hearts (piñas) are slowly cooked in small stone ovens for several days. They are then ground on a tahona, a large volcanic stone wheel. Fermentation takes place in open tanks, followed by double distillation in small copper stills.
