Archibald is a premium tonic brand, created in 2014 by two passionate friends, Paul-Emmanuel and Grégoire. This artisanal tonic is crafted in an old distillery dating back to 1830, located near Cognac, in the heart of the Charentes region. The name "Archibald" pays tribute to the renowned Scottish botanist Archibald Menzies, famous for his discoveries of exotic plants essential for making authentic tonics.
Archibald tonics are carefully produced from natural and French-origin ingredients. Unlike classic tonics, quinine is replaced by locally grown gentian roots, offering a refined and distinctive bitterness. The recipe also includes juniper berries extracted by distillation, adding complexity and character. These natural concentrates are used in very small amounts, ensuring Archibald remains a 100% non-alcoholic beverage. Finally, the blend is delicately carbonated with pure spring water.
The Special Edition No. 1 stands out with its unique notes of gentian and bergamot distillates, carefully aged in oak barrels. This exceptional tonic is ideal for enhancing brown spirits such as whiskies and cognacs, offering a rich and balanced tasting experience.
