Domaine Pouderoux - Serbat 2024
The Domaine Pouderoux, located in Lansac in Roussillon, cultivates its vines in the heart of the IGP Côtes Catalanes, on spectacular terroirs dominated by the Serbat massif. The vineyard is managed with certified organic farming, with an approach inspired by biodynamics: respect for lunar cycles, preparations 500, 500MT and 501, plant infusions, and strict limitation of synthetic inputs. The soils are mechanically worked on the surface and enriched with organic amendments. The dry and windy climate favors an optimal natural sanitary condition. This agronomic rigor allows the precise expression of the uniqueness of the Catalan terroirs.
The cuvée Serbat Blanc 2024 – IGP Côtes Catalanes is made exclusively from Rolle, a grape variety perfectly suited to Mediterranean conditions. The grapes come from the blend of two complementary plots: 90% black schists located at 300 meters altitude at the foot of the Serbat (900 m), and 10% limestone marls on the edge of the Maury river. The harvest is done manually with selection and sorting in the vineyard. Direct pressing is followed by a blend of two vinifications, in stainless steel tanks for freshness and in 500-liter demi-muids (two wines) for structure. Aging continues on fine lees with bâtonnage for 4 to 6 months in demi-muids, bringing texture and depth.
On tasting, the color is a bright gold. The nose reveals floral aromas of acacia and hawthorn, complemented by notes of exotic fruits. The palate is generous, ample, and mineral, supported by a beautiful tension from the high-altitude schists. The finish stretches out with subtle noble bitters and a slightly buttery structure, a signature of aging on lees. This white will ideally accompany fish, shellfish, leek fondue, or delicate white meats in sauce, revealing all its complexity at the table.
