Domaine Elian Da Ros - The Elian Vineyard 2021
Domaine Elian Da Ros is located in Cocumont in the Côtes du Marmandais , on the left bank of the Garonne. Elian Da Ros , the son of a farmer, dreamed of becoming a winemaker since childhood and began his studies in viticulture and oenology at the age of 14. After working in Alsace for 5 years, he returned to his home region and built his winery. In 1998, he produced his first vintage. Today, the estate covers 19 hectares, certified organic since 2000, and biodynamic since 2002.
The Elian Vineyard is a blend of Cabernet Franc (50%), Merlot (30%) and Syrah (20%) . The vines are 30 to 40 years old. The harvest is completely destemmed and then transferred to open concrete vats where maceration lasts 2 to 3 weeks with light punching down for extraction. Aging lasts 16 months in tuns and barrels . Each grape variety is vinified and aged separately. The wines are blended in concrete vats for 3 months .
