Domaine de Conti - Galapia 2024
Domaine Albert de Conti / Château Tour des Gendres is located in the Bergerac region of southwest France. Vincenzo de Conti, his wife, and children moved to the southwest in 1925. In 1956, his son Primo de Conti took over the family farm with his wife, Michelle (who also breeds a few horses), and his brother, Albert. In the early 1980s, Luc reclaimed a few hectares of old vines and also planted new plots, assisted by his wife, Martine, who also looked after the estate's reception. Francis, his cousin, joined the farm in 1990: his 20 hectares of vines in Saint Julien d'Eymet were added to the Gendres and Grand Caillou vineyards, and he took over the cultivation of the vines. Since 2005, the 52 hectares of the property have been managed using certified organic farming methods.
Galapia is a blend of Merlot (50%), Cabernet Franc (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) . After complete destemming, the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are directly pressed while the Merlot is macerated for 8 days.
