Domaine Roc d’Anglade 2013

Roc d'Anglade is located in Langlade in the Gard . The village of Langlade has a Grand Cru wine tradition. In the 19th century, before the destruction of the vineyard by phylloxera, the village of 650 inhabitants had 165 winegrowers and 625 hectares of vines. Roc d'Anglade was created in 1999 and became the 3rd property of the modern era of the Cru. The vines, grown organically by Rémy and Martine Pédréno , extend over 7.5 hectares. The terroir is clay-siliceous on limestone marl, facing due north.

The red Roc d'Anglade 2013 is a blend of Carignan (55%), Mourvèdre (25%) and 25% Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault whose average age is 25 to 30 years. The harvest is manual and fermentation begins with native yeasts, in whole clusters for 80% of the harvest. Aging lasts 18 months on fine lees ; 1/3 in demi-muids , 1/3 in muids and 1/3 in tuns . Light filtration on white earth before bottling.

Grape varieties: 55% Carignan, 25% Mourvèdre and 25% Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault
