TAYLOR'S - Porto - Golden Age - Tawny 50 years
The Taylor’s Port House is ideally located in Vila Nova de Gaia, on the south bank of the majestic Douro River, opposite the splendid city of Porto, in Portugal. Founded in 1692 by the daring Job Bearsley, this iconic house is one of the oldest and most prestigious founding Port houses. Today, it is proudly managed by the Yeatman family, who continue a passion and expertise passed down for over 200 years. Taylor’s wines are made from carefully selected grapes, mainly from exceptional vineyards located in the Douro Valley, world-renowned for its unique terroir where climate, granite soil, and intense sunshine provide ideal conditions for producing the finest Port wines. Furthermore, Taylor’s diversifies its expertise by also producing refined still wines in the Douro region, while cultivating vineyards in other renowned Portuguese wine regions, notably Alentejo, ensuring quality and authenticity.
This exceptional 50-year-old Port comes from elite vineyards located in the eastern part of the Douro, known for its exceptional crus capable of aging perfectly for many decades. Before their final blending, the selected wines undergo rigorous aging in well-seasoned oak casks, carefully set aside by Taylor’s expert coopers, thus ensuring harmonious and complex maturation. After half a century of aging in noble wooden casks, this vinous jewel reaches its peak, symbolizing what connoisseurs call the “Golden Age,” offering aromatic concentration, remarkable finesse, and exceptional length on the palate.
