Sponge is a brand created by independent bottler Decadent Drinks . Its founder, Angus MacRaild , a freelance whiskey enthusiast who dabbled in writing, auctioning, tasting, festivals and consulting. He is the author of the Whiskey Sponge blog on which the bottling series is based. Angus is also general manager of Decadent Drinks and responsible for product selection and label design. The bottlings are designed to represent exceptional quality while expressing a sense of fun and "decadence".

Rum Sponge Edition No. 14 is a rum from the Foursquare distillery in Barbados . It was distilled in 2000 and aged for 21 years . 241 bottles were produced.
