Although located in the Entre deux mers wine region, the vineyard of this sweet white wine from Bordeaux enjoys a very specific terroir that it shares with other known and recognized appellations such as Sainte Croix du Mont and Cadillac. . Indeed the vines here are planted facing the Garonne on its right bank, the soils are gravelly and clay-limestone. The Semillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle grape varieties are very well liked there because they can contemplate the finery of their illustrious elders from Sauternes and Barsac on the other side of the river. What joy for the semillon when the botrytis cinerea , this fungus so loved by winegrowers, comes to fix itself on it and lighten it from the excess of humidity that would prevent it from releasing its golden seed!
