Château Loupiac-Gaudiet 2022
The Château Loupiac-Gaudiet 2022 is a family estate located on the heights of the Loupiac appellation, on the right bank of the Garonne, facing Sauternes. Benefiting from a clay-limestone terroir ideal for sweet wines, the vineyard enjoys autumn mists that promote the development of noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), essential for the concentration of the grapes. This privileged geographical location allows for wines that combine richness, freshness, and elegance. The 2022 vintage, marked by a hot and dry summer followed by favorable conditions at the end of the season, allowed for beautiful aromatic concentration while maintaining remarkable balance. Château Loupiac-Gaudiet follows the tradition of great sweet wines from Bordeaux, with a precise and respectful approach to the terroir.
The blend is based on the traditional grape varieties of the appellation, mainly Sémillon, complemented by Sauvignon Blanc and sometimes a touch of Muscadelle. The harvest is carried out by successive sorting to select only perfectly ripe botrytized berries. The vinification aims to preserve aromatic purity and the balance between sugar and acidity, followed by careful aging that brings roundness and complexity. The 2022 stands out for its beautiful intensity while maintaining freshness and precision, the signature of the best Loupiac wines.
On tasting, the wine reveals a luminous golden robe. The nose opens with aromas of candied apricot, honey, citrus, and white flowers, with nuances of exotic fruits and almond paste. The palate is ample and creamy, supported by a fine acidity that balances the natural richness of the wine. The finish is long, harmonious, and delicately spiced. This Loupiac will perfectly accompany foie gras, blue cheeses, or fruit desserts, and can evolve favorably for several years in the cellar.
