Jean-Claude Berrouet, a major figure in Bordeaux winemaking, long contributed to the estate's direction by favoring a measured approach to viticulture and vinification. The vineyard extends over several hectares of hillsides and plateaus exposed around Montagne-Saint-Émilion, where the vine benefits from a terroir capable of producing structured wines while maintaining finesse. The estate seeks to express the identity of the appellation through balanced wines, favoring fruit ripeness rather than excessive extraction. Old Château Saint André 2023 is mainly made from Merlot coming from plots located on the characteristic clay-limestone plateaus of the Montagne-Saint-Émilion appellation.
