Bénédicte and Stéphane TISSOT - La Mailloche - Chardonnay 2023
The Domaine Tissot, led by Bénédicte and Stéphane Tissot, is one of the major references of the Jura, located in Montigny-lès-Arsures. An emblematic figure of biodynamics in France, Stéphane Tissot has deeply marked the region through his commitment to a living and respectful viticulture of the terroirs. The estate is managed with certified organic and biodynamic agriculture, with extremely precise parcel work. The Jura soils, rich and varied, allow the expression of a wide range of styles, always guided by the purity and energy of the wine. Each cuvée reflects a faithful reading of the place, without artifice.
The cuvée La Mailloche Chardonnay 2023 comes from a specific terroir of the appellation, characterized by marl soils typical of the Jura. Made exclusively from Chardonnay, it embodies a bâtonné expression of the grape variety, favoring freshness and tension. The 2023 vintage, marked by beautiful maturity and preserved energy, results in a wine that is both ample and precise. The vinification is carried out with indigenous yeasts, followed by careful aging that supports the material without masking the identity of the terroir. This cuvée perfectly illustrates the Tissot style: precision, balance, and depth.
On the palate, the wine reveals an elegant nose of white flowers, ripe lemon, and white-fleshed fruits, accompanied by a subtle mineral touch. The mouth is straight, vibrant, and structured, supported by beautiful acidity and a fine texture. The balance between freshness and amplitude gives the wine great clarity and a beautiful length. The finish is clean, saline, and persistent. This Chardonnay will ideally accompany fish, shellfish, or delicate gourmet cuisine, and can evolve harmoniously in the cellar.
