Domaine Cécile Paquet – Mâcon-Villages 2023 exemplifies the freshness and frankness of the great whites of southern Burgundy. Located in the heart of the Mâconnais region, the estate cultivates its Chardonnay vines on well-exposed clay-limestone hillsides, respecting natural balances and adopting sustainable viticulture that pays attention to the purity of the fruit.
The generous and luminous 2023 vintage produced perfectly ripe grapes, balancing aromatic richness and mineral tension. The vinification, carried out in stainless steel vats, aims to preserve the clearest expression of the grape variety: precision, brilliance, and elegance without artifice. A light aging on fine lees gives the wine volume and a supple texture, while maintaining its crystalline freshness.
The nose reveals a delicate bouquet of white flowers, pear, lemon, and fresh almond, enhanced by a hint of wet stone. On the palate, the attack is lively and pure, followed by a fluid and delicious texture. Flavors of white-fleshed fruits and citrus blend into a taut mineral framework. The finish, straightforward and saline, leaves an impression of clarity and lightness, a signature of the Mâconnais terroir.
A pleasant and precise Chardonnay, perfect as an aperitif or with seafood, grilled fish, or fresh goat cheese. Serve between 10 and 12°C.
