Domaine Cassagne et Vitailles - Combarels in the Light 2024
Founded by Matthieu Cassagne and Rodolphe Vitailles, Domaine Cassagne & Vitailles embodies the revival of Languedoc. High in the Montpeyroux terroir and its surroundings, the winemakers embrace an artisanal and environmentally friendly approach. Their goal: to reveal the identity of each plot with sincerity and produce wines that combine depth, freshness, and elegance.
The 2024 Combarels à la Lumière Rouge comes from a terroir of high-altitude hillsides, benefiting from stony clay-limestone soils and a climate tempered by the altitude. The blend, dominated by Syrah, complemented by Grenache and Mourvèdre, illustrates the Mediterranean richness of Languedoc combined with a surprising freshness. The 2024 vintage, balanced and sunny, produces an intense, refined red wine that promises great aging potential.
The deep purple color announces a beautiful concentration. The nose expresses aromas of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry), enhanced by notes of garrigue, licorice and sweet spices. On the palate, the attack is ample and silky, with rich but perfectly integrated tannins. The body, generous and velvety, stretches into a long and harmonious finish, marked by a mineral touch and an unexpected freshness that balance the Mediterranean power. A complete and refined wine, ideal to accompany grilled meats, roast lamb or spicy Provençal cuisine.
