Domaine Philippe Tessier - Cheverny Rouge 2023
Domaine Philippe Tessier is located in Cheverny, in the Loire Valley. The 26-hectare family estate covers the Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny appellation areas. Philippe Tessier took over the estate in 1981, which his father Roger had created in 1961. In February 2020, Simon, Philippe's son, took over management of the estate. The vineyard has been certified organic since 1998. In the vineyards, no chemical inputs are used to keep the soil alive with a large and varied flora and microbial fauna. In the winery, vinification is carried out without technical artifice: no yeasting, enzyming, or chemical correction.
Cheverny Rouge is a blend of Pinot Noir (65%), Gamay (25%) and Côt (5%) . The age of the vines varies from 15 to 40 years. It is vinified using semi-carbonic maceration. The wine is aged in stainless steel, concrete and wooden vats .
