The Penderyn Distillery, a handcrafted jewel located in the far south of the Brecon Beacons National Park in the heart of Wales, symbolizes the revival of Welsh whisky. After a century without notable production, this distillery revived an ancient tradition in the late 1990s, driven by a group of passionate friends. Established in the historic village of Penderyn, this strategic location benefits from a supply of pure natural spring water, an essential ingredient in crafting its exceptional whiskies. The official launch of their first whisky took place in 2004, on Saint David's Day, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Charles, highlighting the prestigious recognition of this unique production.
The iconic Penderyn Dragon range was born in 2015, proudly embodying the national symbol of Wales: the red dragon. Its traditional motto "Y ddraig goch ddyry cychwyn," meaning "The red dragon inspires action," perfectly illustrates the strength and passion revealed in every bottle. The Legend whisky, a gem of this collection, stands out for its maturation in Maderia wine casks, which gives it rich, complex aromas and incomparable finesse.
