CHATEAU LA NEGLY - Le Clos des Truffiers 2016
Château de la Négly is located in Occitania, facing the Mediterranean, in the La Clape massif. In the 18th century, the Castle was called Ancely. It was in 1781 that the property took the name of Nerly to finally be called La Négly in 1807 and later obtained the denomination of Château.
Several families succeeded one another at the head of the estate. The Paux-Rosset family will definitively guide the vineyard in a qualitative production. The cultivation mode is changed and the vines are fully re-seeded. The neighbouring estate of Boède is farmed. With the help of the consulting oenologist Mr. Claude Gros, the vinification will be totally redesigned with the sole objective of quality. Together, in 2006, they bought the Domaine de Boède with a third partner, Alain Wittner.
Today, Bastien Paux-Rosset, responsible for culture, operates these vineyards which extend on 75 hectares (the vineyard extends on 50 hectares and the one of Boède on 25 hectares). Ideally exposed, the terroirs of Négly and Boède are distinguished by the diversity of their soils. In fact, sandy-silty and sandstone in Boède and clay and limestone in Negly give the wines from these vineyards a wide range of aromas. To enhance them, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre have replaced Aramon, Terret and Carignan blanc.
Clos des Truffiers combines aromas of black raspberry, blackberry liqueur, minerals, violet and espresso coffee with woody notes.
