The legendary Domaine Dönnhoff is renowned for the precision of its wines, the aromatic intensity of the plots and above all their legendary ability to produce wines where the sugar / acid balance is at its peak. Superb notes of vine peach, apple, grapefruit, rose petal, honey and cut grass are expected on young wines. When fully ripe, the smoky mineral (here called petroleum), the mandarin, the infusion aromas, the truffle, the graphite ... so much depth which places Dönnhoff as one of the greatest winegrowers on the planet!
The Oberhäuser Brücke is a monopoly of the Dönnhoff estate. This 1.1 hectare plot is recognized as a cru because of its unique character. It is a small vineyard located opposite the Luitpold bridge which leads to Oberhäuser.
The vines are perfectly protected there, allowing early flowering, a long period of vegetation and therefore late and slow maturation. The presence of the arm of the river naturally leads the grapes to botrytize and the gray schist soil covered with silty loess provides the necessary water throughout the ripening process. The basement is made up of ancient rocks which bring a strong minerality to the wine, as well as a lot of freshness. Thanks to this unique terroir, the estate almost every year produces great sweet wines as well as ice wines on this plot. The Oberhäuser Brücke Auslese Goldkapsel is a superb mellow. Nose of crystalline purity, very complex and deep, the mouth is chiseled, long, perfectly balanced, with this permanent dialogue between sweetness and minerality. Rich mellow Riesling 8.5% Vines 25-35 years old Manual harvest - yields 45hl / ha Fermentations and aging in stainless steel vats.
