The prestigious Niepoort family has been producing exceptional Port Wines since 1842, continuing a unique winemaking heritage in the heart of the Douro. The family's first vineyard estate in this famous hilly region was acquired in 1987, marking the beginning of a new era under the visionary leadership of Dirk Niepoort. In 1991, he revolutionized the company with the creation of the very first Redoma red, an iconic wine known for its finesse and complexity. In recent years, Niepoort has taken on the ambitious challenge of exploring and interpreting varied terroirs with distinct soils and climates, acquiring two prestigious estates in the renowned wine regions of Dão and Bairrada. Discover the fascinating Niepoort Triangle, an invitation to savor the richness of authentic terroirs: the Schist of Douro, the Limestone of Bairrada, and the Granite of Dão. This geological diversity shapes unique wines, elevating the art of Portuguese winemaking.
