Gevrey Chambertin

The Burgundy wine estate Claude Dugat is located in Gevrey-Chambertin.
It was created by Claude Dugat, himself heir to a long line of winegrowers and wine workers.

When he started out, Claude Dugat sold his wines to the merchants as was the tradition in his family. He started to find success when he started bottling and selling his wines himself around the turn of the 1990s.

It then became a reference for lovers of Burgundy. The house where the field is located is called "pantry tithe" and the 13th century. It was Claude Dugat's father, Maurice, who bought it in 1956. Some parts of the house date from the Gallo-Roman era.

Praised by fans around the world, Claude Dugat has shown unparalleled humility throughout his career. Today, his three children take up the torch. Bertrand and Laetitia have been accompanying their parents for many years. Jeanne has recently returned. While maintaining the style of fruity, carnal and dense wines that have made the success of the estate, the new generation wants to evolve towards wines with less present aging, refined tannins and earlier harvests to preserve freshness and digestible character. But also to no longer acidify or chaptize to better respect these grapes worked with love and express with even more accuracy the identity of each of their terroirs. And if their wine always tells of this immediate pleasure, linked to the sparkling fruitiness of Pinot, they are also great wines for aging, which wonderfully express all the beauty and strength of the Gevrey-Chambertin terroirs.
