Domaine de Trévallon - White 2024
The Domaine de Trévallon, located north of the Alpilles in Saint-Étienne-du-Grès, is one of the most unique and respected estates in the south of France. Established on extremely stony limestone and clay soils from the Lower Cretaceous, the vineyard benefits from a wild environment surrounded by scrubland and olive trees. True to an artisanal philosophy inherited from Éloi Dürrbach, the estate is managed with organic farming, with minimal intervention vinifications and long aging. While Trévallon is world-renowned for its legendary red, its white remains a rare and sought-after production, made with the same exacting standards. Volumes are limited and each vintage generates genuine enthusiasm among enthusiasts.
The Trévallon White 2024 comes from a historic blend of Roussanne, Marsanne, and Chardonnay, grown on the same limestone terroirs as the red. The 2024 vintage highlights a bright and taut expression, carried by the natural freshness of the site. The vinification is carried out with precision, followed by careful aging that brings depth and complexity without overpowering the wine's identity. True to the estate's style, the aging is extended to refine the structure and allow the fine lees to nourish the body. This white stands out for its balance between Mediterranean richness and mineral tension.
On the palate, the wine reveals an elegant nose of ripe white fruits, delicate flowers, and subtle notes of almond and citrus zest. The mouth is ample and structured, supported by vibrant freshness and a persistent mineral framework. The balance between volume and tension gives the wine great depth and excellent aging potential. The finish is long, saline, and refined, marked by natural elegance. This white will perfectly accompany noble fish, creamy poultry dishes, or Mediterranean cuisine, and has remarkable aging potential for a southern wine.
